It’s been a long time since I’ve last posted, actually it’s been a year, 1 month, and twenty days to be exact. I apologize for those of you who looked forward to my posts and tips, life did to me what it does best and that is pass so effortlessly without giving us a chance to catch up.

Over the year I’ve been extremely busy with work, friends, family, and just life in general. I’ve been wanting to come back to this website and create a post, but nothing was giving me inspiration. If I’m being completely honest I haven’t been motivated or inspired in a long while. I’ve been exhausted and I’ve been finding excuse after excuse to not live the life that I want to live. However, my mindset is beginning to change again, and I want this first post to reflect that by going back to the beginning with one single word. Confident.

When I thought of this idea for the blog I was racking my brain for a brilliant blog title. I wanted something clever and different, I’m a sucker for puns and the word “confident” came to my mind. I loved it, because confidence is something that everyone (I don’t care who you are) struggles with and craves. Most people fake it ’til they make it, which is great, but a lot of people find confidence in being fit, or at least they think they’ll finally find the confidence once they have the body they think they want or should have. I chose this word because although, yes it is mostly a health/fitness lifestyle blog, I wanted to inspire people to live their lives to where they feel good about themselves because they are trying, they are in the process to better themselves, to find themselves, to loves themselves again.

If you notice in my past posts, I don’t try to do the whole fitness model “drink this and do this work out and you can look like me too” thing, because that is not real life and I don’t know about you, but for me seeing how perfect they look almost makes me feel worse about myself. Those people work extremely hard to look the way they do, but for majority of them that is literally their job. They don’t tell you how many hours they dedicate to the gym, or what their meal plan is to the T, or (for the lucky ones) that they are already genetically gifted, because they want you to buy into their program (literally and figuratively).

I started this blog because I wanted to show that not everyone is perfect, that life gets in the way sometimes and it’s hard to stay motivated, but you are not alone. I wanted to give tips to those who have no time, and who are intimidated by the instamodels, and just anyone who is trying to live their life as confidently as they can but needs the extra support (I gotchu boo). What a normal person trying their best, and semi successfully, reaching their goals looks likes.

I’m going to do my best to post more content, whether it be more recipes, work outs, or just my thoughts, but I don’t want this to be strictly just fitness anymore, because the truth is the only thing that’s going to truly make you happy is your mindset, and how you choose to live your life everyday. I want to remind every single person that no matter how much weight you think you need to lose/gain, you are freaken awesome and once you find that light inside you everyone is going to see you shine.
